D James Martineau FIFP

James Martineau is an experienced investment and financial planner having spent the majority of his working life dealing with a variety of aspects of personal finance.

James is a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Planning and a Certified Financial PlannerCM practitioner. He was a Board Director of the Institute of Financial Planning for ten years until 2004. Responsibilities during this time included chairing the Professional Standards Committee for three years and judge of the Financial Planner of the Year Award for several years. James won this award himself in 1993.

He is also an assessor for the Certified Financial PlannerCM qualification.

In 2004, James attended the first ‘Seven Stages of Money Maturity’ workshop held in the UK by George Kinder, founder of the Life Planning movement. (You can find out more by speaking with James, or visiting the website of the Kinder Institute of Life Planning.)

James co-owns Morton-Wilson with Graham Fidoe, both having joined the firm shortly after it was established in 1988. He has extensive experience in advising a variety of clients from entrepreneurs and professional advisers to trustees and widows.

Outside the world of financial planning, James enjoys sailing and is aiming to qualify as a YachtMaster in the not too distant future. He also likes to travel and is always happy to try somewhere or something new. He has three adult children who sometimes make him envious of their pursuits, but is, nonetheless, delighted with their choice; most of the time!
